One Dead, Seven Injured in Parkway Village Shooting Outside Memphis Restaurant

Memphis, Tenn. — A night of socializing turned violent late Saturday when a shooting at a popular restaurant in Parkway Village left one person dead and seven others injured, authorities confirm.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Perkins Road and Cottonwood Road, adjacent to a Sonic Drive-In, outside a local restaurant known as the Mexican Spot.
According to preliminary reports, a group of Hispanic friends had been gathering at the establishment, drinking and socializing, when an argument escalated into gunfire both inside and outside the venue.
Witnesses, including a security guard at the scene, reported that multiple victims suffered various gunshot wounds:
- One individual was shot in the neck.
- Another victim sustained gunshot wounds to the face and chest.
- A third was struck in the ribs.
- A bystander, who was not involved in the altercation, was shot in the leg.
Emergency medical services responded quickly, transporting several victims to nearby hospitals.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The conditions of the surviving victims have not been fully disclosed, but several are reported to be in critical condition.
The Memphis Police Department is actively investigating the shooting.
No information on potential suspects has been released at this time, and investigators are working to determine whether additional individuals were involved.

29-year-old Stevens Jeffrey shot and killed outside Little Caesars in Little Village

Authorities have identified the man shot and killed Friday afternoon in a parking lot outside a Little Caesars restaurant in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.
The victim has been named as Stevens Jeffrey, 29, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of West Cermak Road near Rockwell Street at approximately 1:10 p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).
Preliminary reports indicate that Jeffrey was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by an unknown vehicle.
An armed individual exited that vehicle and opened fire, striking Jeffrey multiple times in the face and body.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, where Jeffrey was pronounced dead. He was discovered inside his vehicle with his two young children, ages 4 and 6, who were unharmed.
Both children were transported to Stroger Hospital for precautionary evaluation.
The shooting took place in the parking lot of a Little Caesars restaurant, where investigators recovered multiple shell casings and placed numerous evidence markers on the ground.
As of Friday evening, no suspects are in custody, and detectives from the CPD Area Four Homicide Unit are leading the investigation. Police have not released information on a possible motive.
