2-Year-Old Girl Egypt Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run on Ocee Street, Suspect Still at Large

Authorities have identified the young child killed in a devastating hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston as 2-year-old Egypt.

The fatal incident occurred in the 3400 block of Ocee Street and is now under active investigation by the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division and Midwest Patrol officers.

According to Egypt’s grieving mother, the tragedy unfolded quickly and without warning.

When the child was struck, an ambulance was called, but in a desperate effort to save her life, Egypt’s mother decided to drive her daughter to the hospital herself.

Egypt’s father administered CPR in the vehicle during the frantic drive.

Despite their heroic and heartbreaking efforts, Egypt was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“She was my world. My everything,” her mother shared in an emotional statement.

Family and friends described Egypt as vibrant, intelligent, and full of joy—a little girl with a bright spirit and loving nature whose life was cut far too short.

The suspect responsible for the crash fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

However, authorities confirm that the apartment complex near where the incident took place is equipped with surveillance cameras.

Investigators are currently reviewing footage in hopes of obtaining critical evidence that will lead to an arrest.

The community is mourning the loss of a child whose life held so much promise.

29-year-old Stevens Jeffrey shot and killed outside Little Caesars in Little Village 2600 block of West Cermak Road near Rockwell Street Chicago

Authorities have identified the man shot and killed Friday afternoon in a parking lot outside a Little Caesars restaurant in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.

The victim has been named as Stevens Jeffrey, 29, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of West Cermak Road near Rockwell Street at approximately 1:10 p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

Preliminary reports indicate that Jeffrey was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by an unknown vehicle.

An armed individual exited that vehicle and opened fire, striking Jeffrey multiple times in the face and body.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene, where Jeffrey was pronounced dead. He was discovered inside his vehicle with his two young children, ages 4 and 6, who were unharmed.

Both children were transported to Stroger Hospital for precautionary evaluation.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of a Little Caesars restaurant, where investigators recovered multiple shell casings and placed numerous evidence markers on the ground.

As of Friday evening, no suspects are in custody, and detectives from the CPD Area Four Homicide Unit are leading the investigation. Police have not released information on a possible motive.
