A shooting incident early Sunday morning in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee, resulted in one fatality and one injury.

The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) confirmed that the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. in the 200 block of East Main Street (Majestic Commons).

Two individuals were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, one of the victims, identified as Charles Dabney, succumbed to their injuries.

The other victim received treatment and was later released.

The JCPD believes the shooting was an isolated incident stemming from a prior altercation.

Timothy Haynes, 18, was pronounced dead at approximately 11:54 p.m. at the scene of the incident on Wales Court, according to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.

They continued life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, but Haynes succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
