KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A motorcyclist identified as Scott Moyers died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a Subaru at a Knoxville intersection Friday morning, according to authorities.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. on May 15, 2026, at the intersection of Tazewell Pike and Old Broadway, prompting a response from the Knoxville Police Department.
Investigators said officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a Subaru passenger vehicle.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Subaru was traveling southbound on Tazewell Pike while the motorcycle, operated by Scott Moyers, was traveling northbound on Old Broadway when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Emergency responders provided aid at the scene, but Moyers suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Authorities confirmed that he died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
