Heavy police presence on Plank Road in Fredericksburg after reports of shooting
A shooting has been reported at a gas station on Plank Road in Fredericksburg, Virginia, directly in front of the mall.
The incident has prompted a large response, with multiple law enforcement units from both Spotsylvania County and Fredericksburg City Police on the scene.
A reliable source reported that an individual who went to Spotsylvania Mall to meet someone in the parking lot for a heroin transaction witnessed Fredericksburg police shooting someone nearby.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area if possible.
The affected gas station is located near the Burger King by Interstate 95, close to a highly trafficked part of the city.
Local residents and commuters are advised to use alternative routes and exercise caution in the vicinity.

14-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Selma, 17-Year-Old Suspect in Custody

SELMA, AL – A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in Selma over the weekend, and a 17-year-old suspect is now in custody in connection with the incident, authorities confirmed.
The Selma Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of Weaver Street in the early hours of Saturday, February 10, at approximately 1:55 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 14-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Later that evening, Selma City Schools identified the victim as Jamarj Acoff in an official statement.
“This is a challenging time for us all as we deal with the loss,” Selma Interim Superintendent Darryl Aikerson stated.
Authorities arrested a 17-year-old suspect on Saturday afternoon in connection with Acoff’s murder.
The suspect’s name has not been released due to their status as a juvenile.
The 17-year-old is currently being held without bond at the Perry County Detention Center, pending a court hearing.
At this time, police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
In light of the tragedy, Selma City Schools announced that grief counseling services will be available for students upon their return to school on Monday.
