57-year-old Barry Anthony killed in single-vehicle Campbell County crash
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. — Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 57-year-old man Tuesday morning in Campbell County.
According to Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched at approximately 7:52 a.m. to Waterlick Road, about one mile west of Lawyers Road, following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, first responders located a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that had left the roadway and overturned.
The driver has been identified as Barry Eugene Anthony, 57, of Lynch Station. Authorities confirmed that Anthony was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Investigators say the vehicle ran off the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation before overturning.
Officials also confirmed that Anthony was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the fatal outcome.
The crash remains under active investigation as troopers work to determine all contributing factors, including roadway conditions and potential speed involvement.
Authorities continue to stress the importance of seatbelt use, noting that wearing proper restraints significantly reduces the risk of fatal injuries in rollover crashes.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
