21-Year-Old Man Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting of 33-year-old Chelsea Milledge in Albany
ALBANY, GA – A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a woman inside a residence on Wednesday, January 22, authorities confirmed.
Officers from the Albany Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Holloway Avenue.
Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Chelsea Milledge, was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery for her injuries.
Following information obtained at the scene, officers were able to identify and locate a suspect, 21-year-old Eugene Barber, who was taken into custody for questioning.
After conducting a thorough investigation, authorities determined that multiple children were present in the residence at the time of the shooting; however, they were unharmed.
Tragically, despite medical efforts, Milledge succumbed to her injuries Thursday morning.
Barber now faces multiple charges in connection with the incident, including:
- Murder
- Home Invasion (1st Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes
