London Woman Arrested for Mother’s Murder Following Fatal Shooting

London, KY – A 26-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder following the fatal shooting of her mother Friday night.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Burnett Road, approximately seven miles southeast of London, at around 9:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered Carol Rich, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Brianna Rich, the victim’s 26-year-old daughter, was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators recovered a 9mm pistol at the scene, which is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.

Brianna Rich was arrested and booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center, where she faces murder charges.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet disclosed any further details.
