Hospital Employee Fatally Shot Outside Our Lady of the Lake in Suspected Domestic Violence Incident

BATON ROUGE, LA – A woman was shot and killed outside Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon, in what authorities are calling a domestic-related shooting.
According to Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse, officers responded to reports of gunfire outside the hospital, located on Hennessey Boulevard, at approximately 3:45 p.m.
The victim, identified as a hospital employee, was in the parking lot leaving work when an armed individual approached and opened fire.
Following the shooting, hospital personnel rushed the victim into the trauma unit, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
As a precautionary measure, the hospital was placed under an active shooter lockdown protocol, restricting movement for employees and visitors. The lockdown was lifted before 5:00 p.m.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified a suspect.
Chief Morse stated that additional details regarding the suspect and the circumstances surrounding the shooting will be released as the investigation progresses.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

BARTOW, FL — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred at 120 Polk Street East in Bartow.
The incident resulted in three individuals sustaining gunshot wounds, including a Bartow Police Department (BPD) officer, a public safety aide (PSA) officer, and the suspect involved.
Emergency medical services were immediately requested at the scene to provide critical aid to all three gunshot victims.
The conditions of the injured individuals have not yet been released.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
Law enforcement officials have secured the area as forensic teams and investigators begin processing the scene.
Additional information, including the identities of those involved and any potential charges, is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
