The Ferris Department of Public Safety has provided an update on the ongoing investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon, May 11, at Jerry Watson Memorial Park.

Authorities confirm that 17-year-old Sir Robert Wesley Dixon was killed, and a juvenile was injured in the incident, which stemmed from a large altercation involving both juveniles and adults.

City officials confirmed that Juliana Jazzlean Pargas, a suspect wanted in connection with the incident, was located and arrested on Monday, May 12, in Lancaster, Texas, at a residence belonging to a family member.

Pargas is charged with tampering with physical evidence involving a firearm used during the shooting. Her age has not been released.

According to officials, the violent encounter began shortly before 2 p.m. when a dispute involving more than 10 individualsโ€”some of whom were adults and others juvenilesโ€”erupted at Jerry Watson Memorial Park.

Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams stated that two groups, including some from outside Ferris, were involved and had a prior conflict.

During the confrontation:

  • Sir Robert Wesley Dixon, 17, was allegedly shot in the neck by a juvenile suspect.
  • After Dixon was shot, an adult male retrieved the firearm Dixon had in his possession and fired multiple rounds at the juvenile believed to have fired the initial shot.

The investigation has revealed that a female individual, believed to be a minor, was present at the scene and reportedly provided Dixon with the firearm prior to the shooting.

Her identity is known to investigators, but her name and photograph are being withheld pending age confirmation.

She is expected to be charged with criminal responsibility for the conduct of another (murder) due to her role in facilitating the shooting.

The City of Ferris confirmed that the entire incident was captured on the parkโ€™s surveillance system, enabling investigators to reconstruct the timeline and identify those involved.
