Los Angeles — Film director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found deceased Sunday afternoon inside their residence on Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood, according to multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.
Authorities responding to the scene discovered two adults inside the home. Law enforcement sources say the victims sustained lacerations consistent with injuries caused by a sharp object, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division to take over the case.
The investigation remains active, and officials have not yet released a formal statement confirming the cause or manner of death.

Rob Reiner, 78, was a towering figure in American film and television, the son of legendary comedian Carl Reiner, who died in 2020. He began his career in the 1960s as a comedy writer, including work on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Reiner rose to national fame in the 1970s portraying Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the landmark sitcom All in the Family, earning two Primetime Emmy Awards during the show’s run.
After the series concluded in 1979, Reiner transitioned to directing, launching a celebrated film career with This Is Spinal Tap. He went on to direct a string of acclaimed and culturally influential films, including Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, Misery, A Few Good Men, The American President, and The Bucket List. His work spanned genres and generations, cementing his reputation as one of Hollywood’s most versatile directors.
Reiner met Michele Singer, a photographer, while directing When Harry Met Sally…. The couple married in 1989 and were together for more than 35 years. Friends and colleagues have often credited their relationship with influencing creative decisions in Reiner’s work, including the film’s iconic ending.
In recent years, Reiner also continued acting, appearing as Bob Day, the father of Jess, on New Girl, and later as Albert Schnur in The Bear. According to industry listings, his most recent directing project—a concert-style film featuring the fictional band Spinal Tap—has been completed and is slated for release next year.
Michele Singer Reiner, 68, largely remained out of the public spotlight but was known for her work in photography and for her long partnership with Reiner. The couple shared three children—Jake, Nick, and Romy. Reiner also has a daughter, Tracy, from his previous marriage to director Penny Marshall.

Suspect stabbed both of his parents in Owings Mills
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (Baltimore County) — Authorities are investigating a multiple-victim stabbing that left two people critically injured in Owings Mills.
According to preliminary information, Baltimore County Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the 12300 block of Greenspring Avenue following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, first responders located two victims suffering from severe stab wounds, both classified as priority-one patients.
Emergency crews requested a medical helicopter due to the seriousness of the injuries.
A landing zone was established at Ridge Road and Greenspring Avenue.
One victim was transported by medevac, while the second victim was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby trauma center.
Initial reports indicate that the caller may have stabbed both of his parents.
Police confirmed that a possible suspect has been detained at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or the suspect.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
