New details have emerged surrounding a man who previously provided personal security for U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, revealing that he was allegedly a fugitive with a criminal history who had been impersonating a law enforcement officer while operating under an alias.

Authorities say the man, widely known publicly as “Mike King,” was actually Diamon-Mazairre Robinson.

Investigators allege Robinson used multiple aliases while operating a private security-related business called Off Duty Police Services, which connected off-duty law enforcement officers with private security assignments across North Texas.

According to law enforcement sources, Robinson had a history of multiple arrests for theft in jurisdictions including Dallas, Duncanville, and Irving, as well as within Dallas County.

Investigators say Robinson allegedly presented himself to others as a detective with the United States Capitol Police, a claim that ultimately triggered a federal investigation.

Authorities say he used the false identity to gain credibility while recruiting off-duty officers and managing security operations through his company.

Despite the alleged deception, Robinson was able to secure a role providing security at events and appearances for Rep. Crockett during her political activities.

Police say Robinson also drove a replica undercover police vehicle outfitted with equipment designed to resemble an official law enforcement car. Investigators allege the vehicle displayed stolen license plates, reportedly taken from vehicles parked near a military recruiting office.

Authorities say Robinson used the vehicle and his claimed law enforcement credentials to further reinforce his alleged impersonation of a police officer while conducting security operations for private clients.

The case came to a dramatic end when police tracked Robinson to a parking garage at Children’s Health Dallas in downtown Dallas.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers located Robinson inside his vehicle in the garage. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Robinson reportedly refused commands to surrender and barricaded himself inside the vehicle.

Members of the department’s SWAT team responded and deployed tear gas in an attempt to force him to exit the vehicle.

Authorities say that when Robinson eventually emerged, he displayed a firearm and pointed it at officers. Officers then opened fire, fatally striking him.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.

Following the incident, questions have been raised about how Robinson was able to obtain a security role connected to a sitting member of Congress while allegedly operating under a false identity.

Photographs from political events show Robinson standing near Rep. Crockett during campaign appearances and public engagements. Campaign finance records also reportedly show payments for security services made to “Mike King” as recently as 2025.

Media outlets have asked whether Robinson underwent a background check through the United States Capitol Police or other authorities before being allowed to work security for the congresswoman.

As of now, officials from Crockett’s office have not publicly commented on the matter.

Investigators say Robinson’s activities extended beyond political security. Authorities allege he used his company to coordinate off-duty security assignments involving actual law enforcement officers, and he reportedly managed security operations at several hotels and other venues throughout the Dallas area while claiming to be a certified officer.

The circumstances surrounding Robinson’s impersonation activities, business operations, and connections to private security work remain under investigation by federal and local authorities.
