16-year-old Jamauri Smarr and 14-year-old Jeremiah Carter killed in South Fulton shooting
Authorities in South Fulton are actively searching for a suspect following a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of two teenagers Tuesday night in a residential subdivision.
According to the City of South Fulton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Fortune Point in the Cooks Landing neighborhood shortly before 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, responding officers located two juvenile victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel transported both victims to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Despite lifesaving efforts, authorities later confirmed that both teenagers succumbed to their injuries.
The victims were identified by the Fulton County Medical Examinerโs Office as 16-year-old Jamauri Smarr and 14-year-old Jeremiah Carter.
Investigators remained on scene for several hours, processing evidence and canvassing the area.
A white sedan, believed to be of interest in the investigation, was recovered from the scene and towed for further examination.
At this time, police have not released information regarding a possible motive, and it remains unclear what led up to the shooting.
Authorities have also not confirmed whether the victims were residents of the neighborhood.
In a statement issued overnight, South Fulton Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, calling it a โdevastating lossโ for the community. She emphasized that city officials are working closely with law enforcement to gather additional information and support the ongoing investigation.
Police continue to search for the individual or individuals responsible and are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the South Fulton Police Department.

14-Year-Old Middleton High School Student Carson Chrapkowski Dies After Bicycle Crash, Driver Alyssa Anderson Arrested
MIDDLETON, Idaho โ A 14-year-old Middleton High School student has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near the high school Friday night, according to the Middleton Police Department.
The teenager was transported by Life Flight to St. Lukeโs Boise following the crash but died from his injuries early Saturday morning.
Middleton police said the crash involved a vehicle and a bicyclist near Middleton High School. The 14-year-old suffered critical injuries and was flown to a Boise hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police announced Saturday morning that the young bicyclist had succumbed to his injuries.
The teen was identified in the information provided for this report as Carson Chrapkowski, a Middleton High School student. However, the police departmentโs public statement did not release the teenagerโs name.
Police arrested 41-year-old Alyssa Louise Anderson in connection with the crash. Anderson was booked into the Canyon County Jail.
According to police, Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision or the specific allegations supporting the DUI charge.
