Victims Killed in Nine-Vehicle Crash on I-71 in Delaware County Identified
A respected veterinarian and her family were among those killed in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 in Delaware County on April 11, according to officials and her employer.
Muirfield Animal Hospital confirmed in a public memorial that Dr. Lynnea Soposki, 36, lost her life in the collision.
A staff member further verified that her husband, 37-year-old Luke Soposki, and their 1-year-old son, Logan, also died as a result of the crash.
The family resided in Ashley, Ohio.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:27 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 near the U.S. 36 and State Route 37 interchange.
Investigators say a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by 50-year-old Modou F. Ngom of Columbus, failed to slow down while approaching stopped traffic in a construction zone.
The semi-truck subsequently collided with multiple vehicles, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving a total of nine vehicles.
Authorities reported that the impact caused severe damage, with at least one vehicle catching fire upon collision.
Three individualsโidentified as Dr. Soposki, her husband, and their infant sonโwere pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three additional people sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Ngom has been charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.
During a court appearance, a judge set his bond at $500,000, and prosecutors indicated that additional charges may be filed in connection with those injured in the crash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21.
Dr. Soposki was a graduate of Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her degree in 2016.
She was known for her dedication to animal care, with professional interests that included feline medicine, geriatric treatment, neurology, behavior, and rehabilitative therapy.
Colleagues described her as compassionate and deeply committed to both her patients and their owners.
The crash caused significant disruption, shutting down traffic in both directions of Interstate 71 for several hours as emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene.
The incident remains under active investigation.

14-Year-Old Middleton High School Student Carson Chrapkowski Dies After Bicycle Crash, Driver Alyssa Anderson Arrested
MIDDLETON, Idaho โ A 14-year-old Middleton High School student has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near the high school Friday night, according to the Middleton Police Department.
The teenager was transported by Life Flight to St. Lukeโs Boise following the crash but died from his injuries early Saturday morning.
Middleton police said the crash involved a vehicle and a bicyclist near Middleton High School. The 14-year-old suffered critical injuries and was flown to a Boise hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police announced Saturday morning that the young bicyclist had succumbed to his injuries.
The teen was identified in the information provided for this report as Carson Chrapkowski, a Middleton High School student. However, the police departmentโs public statement did not release the teenagerโs name.
Police arrested 41-year-old Alyssa Louise Anderson in connection with the crash. Anderson was booked into the Canyon County Jail.
According to police, Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision or the specific allegations supporting the DUI charge.
