KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 670, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to two others.
According to fire officials, the collision took place in the eastbound lanes of I-670 near the Genessee area.
Preliminary information indicates that an SUV collided with the rear of a large dump truck under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found multiple occupants inside the SUV.
Two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, while a third occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Teresa Ashley.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
