Motorcyclist Scott Kruppenbacher killed in crash on Elmgrove Road in Gates
GATES, N.Y. — Authorities have identified a 31-year-old man who was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday morning in the Town of Gates, according to local police.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. along Elmgrove Road and involved a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist, later identified as Scott Kruppenbacher of Greece, New York, suffering from fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gates Police Chief Rob Long confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene following the crash and is cooperating fully with investigators.
The crash prompted the temporary closure of Elmgrove Road between Spencerport Road and Deming Street for several hours as law enforcement processed the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation.
The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
Witnesses reported a significant emergency response, with multiple police units present at the scene.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
