Shreveport, Louisiana — Authorities are investigating a devastating mass shooting that claimed the lives of eight children, including an infant, and left two additional individuals injured Saturday night in a series of violent attack as spanning multiple residences.
According to officials, a total of 10 individuals were shot during the incident. Eight victims — ranging in age from 1 to 14 years old — were pronounced dead, marking one of the most tragic and disturbing cases involving children in the region’s recent history.
Speaking during a press briefing, Shreveport Police Department spokesperson Christopher Bordelon stated that preliminary information suggests several of the victims may have been related to the suspected gunman, indicating a possible familial connection at the center of the attack. However, authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and details are still being verified.
Law enforcement officials reported that the shootings occurred across three separate homes — two located on the same street and a third in close proximity — creating what investigators described as a complex and expansive crime scene.
Officers were dispatched to multiple locations as reports of gunfire emerged, complicating the initial response and requiring a coordinated effort to secure the affected areas.
Following the shootings, the suspect allegedly fled and carried out a carjacking near the intersection of West 79th Street and Linwood Avenue.
Responding officers quickly identified the stolen vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
“The individual responsible, once leaving this scene, performed a carjacking in close proximity to West 79th and Linwood,” Bordelon stated. “Shreveport police patrol officers subsequently located the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit.”
The incident concluded when officers confronted the suspect, who was ultimately shot and killed, ending the violent sequence of events.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or the suspect, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators continue to work diligently to establish a clear timeline and determine the motive behind the shootings.

14-Year-Old Middleton High School Student Carson Chrapkowski Dies After Bicycle Crash, Driver Alyssa Anderson Arrested
MIDDLETON, Idaho — A 14-year-old Middleton High School student has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near the high school Friday night, according to the Middleton Police Department.
The teenager was transported by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Boise following the crash but died from his injuries early Saturday morning.
Middleton police said the crash involved a vehicle and a bicyclist near Middleton High School. The 14-year-old suffered critical injuries and was flown to a Boise hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police announced Saturday morning that the young bicyclist had succumbed to his injuries.
The teen was identified in the information provided for this report as Carson Chrapkowski, a Middleton High School student. However, the police department’s public statement did not release the teenager’s name.
Police arrested 41-year-old Alyssa Louise Anderson in connection with the crash. Anderson was booked into the Canyon County Jail.
According to police, Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision or the specific allegations supporting the DUI charge.
