62-year-old Nicholas Milohnic killed in Fort Ann dirt bike crash
Authorities in New York are investigating a fatal dirt bike crash that occurred over the weekend at a motocross facility in Fort Ann.
According to the New York State Police, the incident took place on April 18 at Adirondack MX (ADK MX), located along State Route 149.
Troopers were dispatched to the track shortly before 10:45 a.m. Saturday following reports of a rider who had sustained severe injuries during a run.
Preliminary findings indicate that 62-year-old Nicholas Milohnic, of Beacon, was ejected from his dirt bike after navigating a jump on the course.
The impact resulted in critical injuries.
Emergency medical personnel responded promptly to the scene; however, Milohnic was pronounced deceased at the location.
In response to the tragedy, Adirondack MX released a statement on its social media platforms confirming that the facility would be temporarily closed as a mark of respect and while the situation is being assessed.
The New York State Police confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
At this time, authorities have stated that the incident does not appear to be suspicious.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
