24-year-old Tyra Carmen Bradley killed after crash on I-85 in Anderson County
Authorities in Anderson County, South Carolina, are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning along Interstate 85, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old woman.
According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, emergency personnel were dispatched just before 5:30 a.m. on April 21, 2026, to the area near the 9-mile marker on I-85 following reports of a serious collision.
Upon arrival, first responders located one individual with critical injuries.
The victim was identified as Tyra Carmen Letitia Bradley of Easley.
She received immediate medical attention at the scene before being airlifted to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for advanced care.
Despite life-saving efforts, Bradley later succumbed to her injuries.
Preliminary investigative findings indicate that the driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling along the interstate when they reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
The vehicle subsequently veered off the right side of the roadway and collided with a parked 18-wheeler. Bradley was seated in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash.
The coroner’s office determined that Bradley died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the collision.
Her death has been ruled accidental.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
The investigation and emergency response remain ongoing in Ferguson, and officials are expected to provide additional information once the scene has been fully assessed.
