30-year-old Keanu Nochta killed in Crash with Commercial Truck in Bismarck
BISMARCK, N.D. — A 30-year-old man has died following a serious crash involving a commercial flatbed truck at a busy Bismarck intersection, according to the Bismarck Police Department.
The collision occurred thursday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Centennial Road and Century Avenue.
Authorities say a flatbed commercial truck and a Chevrolet Impala entered the intersection at the same time, resulting in a violent crash.
Investigators report that the truck struck the passenger side of the Impala, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash was reported around 2:40 p.m.
The driver of the Impala, identified as Keanu Nochta, 30, of Bismarck, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Despite medical efforts, he later died.
A 10-year-old child who was seated in the back of the vehicle had to be extricated from the wreckage by first responders.
Officials say the child sustained injuries but is expected to recover.
The driver of the flatbed truck, identified as a 21-year-old man from Mandan, was not injured in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including right-of-way and contributing factors.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
