Motorcyclist Joshua Pagett killed in Clinton County crash
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 33-year-old motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Clinton County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Farmers Road near Murphy Road in Washington Township.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 71-year-old man driving a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country was attempting to enter Farmers Road from a private driveway when the crash occurred.
Investigators say the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming motorcycle, identified as a 2003 Yamaha XVS650C, which was traveling southeast on Farmers Road at the time.
Upon impact, the motorcycle left the roadway and the rider was ejected.
The motorcyclist, identified as Joshua Pagett, 33, sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital.
Despite emergency medical efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Chrysler sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Authorities noted that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, while the driver of the Chrysler was properly restrained with a seatbelt.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No additional details have been released at this time.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
