25-year-old Chase Cole killed in single-vehicle crash on Pratt Whitney Road in Jupiter
JUPITER, Florida — A 25-year-old man from Palm Beach Gardens was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Pratt Whitney Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported that Chase Cole was driving a Volkswagen Jetta westbound in the 1500 block of Pratt Whitney Road at approximately 9:32 p.m. when the crash occurred.
Preliminary findings indicate that as the roadway curved to the right, the vehicle continued straight for unknown reasons, leaving the roadway and entering the grassy shoulder.
After departing the roadway, the vehicle struck multiple trees, resulting in severe damage. Investigators noted that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Authorities also stated that impairment due to drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor at this time.
Responders from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived shortly after the crash and pronounced Cole dead at the scene at approximately 9:46 p.m.
The crash remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause, including potential factors such as speed, roadway conditions, or mechanical issues.
Officials urge drivers to remain attentive, especially on curved roadways at night, as investigations into the fatal Jupiter crash continue.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
