John “ZUKI” Killed in Mission Motorcycle Crash After Rider Flees DPS Traffic Stop
MISSION, Texas — A fatal early-morning motorcycle crash in Mission claimed the life of one rider after another motorcyclist allegedly fled from a traffic stop initiated by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), authorities said.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. Sunday near West Expressway 83 and Holland Avenue.
According to DPS spokesperson Sgt. Maria Hernandez, a trooper attempted to stop a motorcyclist for a traffic violation when the rider refused to yield and fled.
During the attempted evasion, the fleeing motorcycle collided with a second motorcycle, resulting in a fatal crash.
The rider who died has been identified as John “ZUKI”. Officials have not yet released his full legal name pending further notification procedures.
He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The Mission Police Department is leading the investigation into the crash.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the identity or condition of the fleeing rider, nor have they confirmed whether charges will be filed.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
