26-year-old Aalyah Casson killed in single-vehicle fatal crash in Dover
DOVER, Del. — The Dover Police Department is actively investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old woman.
According to authorities, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:44 a.m. to the unit block of South New Street, just south of West Division Street in Dover, following reports of a motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, first responders located a 2013 Nissan Murano that had left the roadway and struck a tree on the east side. Inside the vehicle, officers found the driver, identified as Aalyah Casson of Felton, Delaware, suffering from critical injuries.
Police and emergency medical personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures at the scene.
Despite their efforts, Casson later succumbed to her injuries.
Early findings indicate that Casson had been traveling westbound on West Division Street before attempting to turn left onto South New Street at a high rate of speed.
After making the turn, the vehicle reportedly lost control, exited the roadway, and collided with a tree.
Investigators also determined that Casson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, a factor that may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
The crash remains under active investigation as authorities continue to examine all contributing factors, including speed and roadway conditions.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
