A tragic murder-suicide investigation in Port St. Lucie, Florida, has left three young children without their parents after authorities discovered a husband and wife shot to death inside their home on Southwest Ensenada Terrace.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers responded Monday to a residence in the 2700 block of Southwest Ensenada Terrace, where they found 31-year-old Jimsley Estime and 30-year-old Ketsy Alexis deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the case is a murder-suicide.

The heartbreaking incident has deeply shaken the local community, particularly after authorities confirmed that two of the couple’s children — ages 1 and 2 — were inside the home at the time of the shooting. Police said the couple’s 6-year-old child later returned home from school and discovered the bodies.

Neighbors told reporters they were stunned by the tragedy, describing the family as seemingly happy and quiet. However, newly revealed police records indicate there had been a documented history of domestic violence and threats within the marriage dating back months before the deadly incident.

According to a September 2025 incident report obtained by local media, Alexis previously contacted Port St. Lucie police after discovering alleged evidence of infidelity involving Estime, who worked as a truck driver and was reportedly out of town at the time.

Police records state Alexis informed officers she planned to pursue a divorce after confronting Estime over the phone.

During that conversation, authorities said Estime allegedly threatened to kill her if she left him.

“You know me, you don’t know what I can do,” Estime allegedly told Alexis during messages exchanged through WhatsApp, according to the police report.

Alexis reportedly told officers that when she threatened to contact law enforcement, Estime responded that he was not afraid of going to prison.

Investigators said the threatening messages were written in Creole and later translated by a police department employee, who confirmed the nature of the threats.

The report further revealed Alexis described prior incidents of domestic violence throughout their seven-year marriage, including abuse that allegedly began while she was pregnant with their first child. However, she reportedly said she had not previously documented or reported those incidents.

When officers later contacted Estime, he allegedly acknowledged tensions in the relationship but claimed he had offered to pay child support if Alexis decided to leave him.

Police records show officers provided Alexis with domestic violence resources, including a victims’ rights packet, and encouraged her to call 911 if additional threats occurred.

Officers also reportedly advised her to temporarily leave the home for safety reasons, but she declined due to concerns involving her children and employment.

Court records later showed that on January 18, 2026, a warrant for Estime was approved on allegations involving threats and intimidation. Authorities arrested him on January 26.

However, police said Alexis later submitted a non-prosecution affidavit on February 5 requesting the charges be dismissed and indicating she did not wish to testify against her husband.

Investigators have not publicly released additional details surrounding the fatal shooting, including the exact sequence of events leading up to the deaths.

Authorities continue processing evidence as the investigation remains ongoing.
