MIAMI, Florida — Social media personalities Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, were arrested in Miami, Florida, on July 18, 2026, as British authorities pursue extradition proceedings tied to an expanding criminal investigation involving multiple alleged sexual offenses.
The arrests were carried out by the United States Marshals Service following requests from United Kingdom authorities. The brothers are currently being held pending ongoing legal proceedings and extradition efforts initiated by British prosecutors.
According to authorities, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorized 38 additional criminal charges against the Tate brothers after reviewing a new file of evidence submitted by investigators.
The new charges bring the total number of criminal counts against the brothers to 59, with Andrew Tate facing 42 charges and Tristan Tate facing 17 charges.
The allegations stem from investigations conducted by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, involving reports made to both Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary. Authorities said the alleged offenses date back to a period between July 2010 and August 2017.
British prosecutors said Andrew Tate faces several new allegations involving four additional victims.
The newly authorized charges against him include:
- Seven additional counts of rape
- Three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation
- Three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Nineteen additional offenses related to indecent images of a child
- Charges involving alleged extreme pornography offenses
These new allegations significantly expand the case already pending against him.
Prosecutors also approved additional charges against Tristan Tate, including:
- One count of sexual assault
- Two counts of rape
- Three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation
Authorities said the new charges involve alleged offenses connected to multiple victims and incidents spanning several years.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it is seeking the extradition of both men from the United States so they can face prosecution in the United Kingdom on both the original and newly authorized charges.
Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said prosecutors determined there was sufficient evidence to pursue additional counts following receipt of a further investigative file from Bedfordshire Police.
McHaffie stated that the latest charging decisions increase the total number of alleged victims connected to the case to seven.
He also emphasized that criminal proceedings remain active and urged the public not to publish or share information that could prejudice future court proceedings.
Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas said investigators have worked closely with prosecutors and both domestic and international law enforcement agencies throughout what authorities describe as a complex and ongoing investigation.
She noted that law enforcement agencies remain committed to supporting victims and thoroughly investigating all allegations reported to police.
Thomas also urged the public to avoid speculation while legal proceedings continue.
British authorities have not released additional details regarding the evidence underlying the latest charges. The Tate brothers remain presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
Extradition proceedings are expected to determine whether Andrew and Tristan Tate will be transferred to the United Kingdom to face the full range of charges authorized by prosecutors.
The case remains active in both the United States and the United Kingdom, with further court hearings anticipated in the coming months.

19-year-old Brianna killed in Lincoln shooting, suspect Tyler Benzel charged with first-degree murder
LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln police have released additional information about a fatal shooting Tuesday evening that claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman identified as Brianna.
Authorities have identified 37-year-old Tyler Benzel as the suspect in the shooting. According to Lancaster County Jail records, Benzel has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death.
According to Lincoln police, the incident began with a verbal and physical altercation involving Benzel’s wife, Brianna and other individuals.
Investigators said they believe the confrontation was initiated by Benzel’s wife. Police said Benzel later left his residence and approached the group.
Authorities allege that Benzel told the individuals to leave and made verbal threats before raising a firearm and firing at the group. Police said the confrontation and shooting took place away from Benzel’s property.
Officers arrived at the scene within moments and found Brianna suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Officers immediately began providing life-saving medical treatment at the scene. Brianna was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Police recovered a 9mm handgun at the scene. However, investigators said forensic testing is still required to determine whether the recovered firearm was the weapon used in the shooting.
Authorities said they are not currently aware of any other weapons being involved in the incident.
Police said Benzel was cooperative when officers arrived at the scene. Authorities also said Benzel and his wife did not know Brianna or the other individuals involved before the altercation.
Benzel’s wife has not been arrested or charged in connection with the shooting at this time.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence, including forensic testing of the recovered firearm.
Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Benzel is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
