AUSTIN, Texas — Newly released video footage captures the moment the gunman, identified as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, opened fire inside a crowded downtown Austin bar early Sunday morning, resulting in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries.

The shooting occurred at Buford’s Bar on West Sixth Street, a popular nightlife destination.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:59 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers encountered an active shooter situation and returned fire. The suspect was fatally shot at the scene.

Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Officials report that three people were killed in the attack, including two victims pronounced dead at the scene.

Fourteen additional individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Several victims remain in critical condition, while others are being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement officials have identified the suspect as Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally born in Senegal. Investigators state that Diagne was wearing a shirt bearing the phrase “Property of Allah” at the time of the attack.

ANNANDALE, Va. (Fairfax County) — A motor vehicle collision on the southbound Outer Loop of Interstate 495 escalated into a violent stabbing incident Sunday afternoon, prompting a large-scale emergency response and the complete shutdown of the highway in the area.

According to preliminary reports, the incident began as a multi-vehicle crash near Little River Turnpike (Route 236).

Shortly after the collision, a suspect allegedly exited one of the vehicles armed with a knife and began attacking individuals at the scene.

Two victims were classified as “red tag,” indicating critical, life-threatening injuries, while one victim was categorized as “yellow tag,” signifying serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
