16-year-old Tianah Robinson killed after shooting during 404 Day celebrations at Piedmont Park in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a fatal double shooting that occurred Saturday night inside Piedmont Park during gatherings associated with “404 Day” celebrations, leaving one teenage girl dead and another injured.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers were dispatched to the park shortly after 9:00 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition.

While securing the scene and conducting a search of the area, officers discovered a second victim—a 16-year-old girl, later identified as Tianah Robinson—who had also been shot.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.

Preliminary information from police indicates that the incident was not connected to an officially permitted 404 Day event, which had taken place on the opposite side of the park and concluded earlier in the evening at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Instead, investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from an unpermitted gathering occurring near the far west end of the park.

Authorities have not yet identified any suspects or made any arrests, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

It is also unknown whether the victims were specifically targeted.

Police are urging anyone who attended the gathering or who may have captured photos or video of the incident to come forward.
