6-Month-Old Kaybri Robinson Killed in Tangipahoa Parish Crash, Driver Resjyne Griffin Faces Vehicular Homicide Charges
TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 6-month-old Kaybri Robinson of Hammond late Thursday night.
According to Troop L, the crash occurred on May 22, 2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m. on US Highway 51 just south of LA Highway 1064 in Tangipahoa Parish.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 25-year-old Resjyne N. Griffin of Hammond, was traveling northbound on US Highway 51 approaching LA Highway 1064.
For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a culvert.
Authorities said Griffin was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
Troopers said two young children inside the vehicle were also unrestrained at the time of the crash.
A 5-year-old passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Kaybri Robinson, who was just 6 months old, was also transported to a nearby hospital, where the infant later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
During the investigation, state police said Griffin showed signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Upon release, Griffin is expected to be booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Correctional Facility on multiple charges, including:
- Vehicular Homicide
- Vehicular Negligent Injury
- No Child Restraint
- Careless Operation
- Open Container
- No Driver’s License
Investigators also collected routine toxicology samples as part of the ongoing investigation.
Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
Troopers are reminding motorists of the importance of proper child restraints, seat belt use, and never driving while impaired, emphasizing that these safety measures can save lives and reduce the severity of injuries in serious crashes.

14-Year-Old Middleton High School Student Carson Chrapkowski Dies After Bicycle Crash, Driver Alyssa Anderson Arrested
MIDDLETON, Idaho — A 14-year-old Middleton High School student has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near the high school Friday night, according to the Middleton Police Department.
The teenager was transported by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Boise following the crash but died from his injuries early Saturday morning.
Middleton police said the crash involved a vehicle and a bicyclist near Middleton High School. The 14-year-old suffered critical injuries and was flown to a Boise hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police announced Saturday morning that the young bicyclist had succumbed to his injuries.
The teen was identified in the information provided for this report as Carson Chrapkowski, a Middleton High School student. However, the police department’s public statement did not release the teenager’s name.
Police arrested 41-year-old Alyssa Louise Anderson in connection with the crash. Anderson was booked into the Canyon County Jail.
According to police, Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision or the specific allegations supporting the DUI charge.
The crash remains under investigation by the Middleton Police Department and Idaho State Police. Investigators have not released further information about the sequence of events or whether additional charges could be filed.
