The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victims killed in a tragic Thanksgiving morning shooting on the city’s East Side as 24-year-old La Vontay Drummer-Simms and 27-year-old Devin Lavalais.

San Antonio police responded to the incident, which unfolded in the early hours of Thursday at a residence in the 600 block of Potomac Street near Dignowty Hill.

According to SAPD Chief William McManus, a group of individuals had been gathered at the home since Wednesday.

The situation escalated when a man, while leaving the house, suddenly began shooting. Police have not yet determined the motive behind the attack.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two victims, men in their 20s, sustained injuries of unknown severity and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities detained a suspect, identified as Michael Moore, a few blocks away near East Houston Street and North New Braunfels Avenue shortly after the shooting.

He has since been charged with capital murder of multiple persons and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Chief McManus described the incident as a senseless act of violence, and investigators are working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

Wife Shaletha Lott arrested in death of husband Albert Lott Jr in Dee Street shooting

A Shreveport woman is in custody following a fatal domestic dispute that claimed the life of her husband on Tuesday evening.

The Shreveport Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Dee Street, located in the Anderson Island neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Albert D. Lott Jr., 32, with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the shooter as Shaletha Lott, the victim’s wife.

According to police, the incident began as an argument between the couple. When Albert Lott Jr. reportedly asked his wife to leave, Shaletha retrieved a firearm and discharged a single round, striking her husband.

Shaletha Lott called 911 to report the incident and remained at the scene. She was later arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of manslaughter.

The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services has been notified, although police have not disclosed how many children were present or their relation to the couple.

Albert Lott Jr.’s death marks the 48th homicide in Shreveport this year, underscoring a troubling trend of violence in the city.

Investigators continue to gather information about the circumstances leading to the shooting, and further details may emerge as the case progresses. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information about the incident to contact law enforcement.
