Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation on Murray Hill Street in Detroit
Authorities are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred early Monday morning on Detroit’s northwest side.
According to the Michigan State Police (MSP), the incident took place around 4:40 a.m. in the 20200 block of Murray Hill Street, involving troopers assigned to the MSP Auto Theft Team.
Preliminary information indicates that multiple shots were fired during the encounter. One suspect was fatally shot during the exchange of gunfire.
A trooper was also struck by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The extent of the trooper’s injuries has not yet been publicly disclosed.
Michigan State Police confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the shooting are under active investigation.
It remains unclear what led up to the confrontation.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased suspect, and no additional information regarding possible accomplices or weapons recovered has been provided at this time.

Video Shows Henry County Officer Fatally Shoots 16-Year-Old Tyrie During Foot Chase in Stockbridge
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — A 16-year-old boy identified by family members as Tyrie was fatally shot by a Henry County police officer Tuesday evening after a foot chase near a Krispy Kreme, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The shooting occurred around 6:33 p.m. on November 3, in the parking lot of the Krispy Kreme on Highway 138 West.
The GBI said an officer approached two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, and spoke with them briefly.
According to investigators, the officer then instructed the 17-year-old to remove his hands from his pockets.
The GBI said the older teen passed a handgun to the 16-year-old, who ran from the officer while carrying the weapon.
The officer pursued the teen on foot and ordered him to drop the gun, the GBI said. Investigators reported that the teen did not drop it, and the officer fired, striking him.
The 16-year-old died at the scene. A gun was recovered.
Family members identified the teen as Tyrie and described him as a son, brother, uncle, friend and a young person who was full of life. One family member also described him as kind and smart and said he was their daughter’s first love. The family has questioned the account of the incident and called for answers.
