Valeria Márquez, a well-known 23-year-old TikTok content creator, was tragically shot and killed on Tuesday evening while livestreaming from her beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico, according to the Jalisco State Attorney General’s Office.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time at “Blossom the Beauty Lounge,” a business reportedly operated by Márquez.

Authorities stated that an unidentified male suspect arrived at the location on a motorcycle, entered the salon, and opened fire.

Márquez, who had amassed nearly 200,000 followers on TikTok and was known for her beauty and lifestyle content, was broadcasting live to her audience at the time of the attack.

According to reports, she was shot in the chest and head. The livestream captured the moment she collapsed to the floor.

Shortly afterward, a woman present in the salon can be seen picking up the phone and ending the broadcast. The identity of the woman has not been confirmed.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but Márquez was pronounced dead at the location.

The suspect fled immediately after the shooting and remains at large, officials said.

The Jalisco Attorney General’s Office has launched a formal investigation under the femicide protocol—a legal framework activated when a woman’s killing is believed to be motivated by gender-based violence.

This step reflects the seriousness with which authorities are treating the case and signals a focus on determining whether Márquez was targeted specifically because of her gender.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed additional details.
