Jack Clayville Dies in Cancun Electrocution While Attempting to Save Friend
CANCUN, Mexico — Family and friends are mourning the tragic death of 25-year-old Jack Clayville, who reportedly died while attempting to save a friend during an electrocution incident in Cancun, Mexico.
In a heartfelt statement shared online, Jack’s family said he passed away on May 3 after being electrocuted while trying to rescue another person from the same danger.
According to the statement written by family members Carleen B. Clayville and Mike Clayville, Jack was remembered as someone who lived life fearlessly, selflessly, and with deep compassion for others.
“He lived and loved life at a level that was breathtaking,” the family wrote. “He never wavered from his true selflessness. I always knew the only thing that would take Jack out early was a friend in need.”
Loved ones described Jack as a devoted son, brother, partner, friend, and colleague whose impact reached far beyond his immediate circle. His death has left family members, friends, and the communities he was part of devastated by the sudden loss.
The family shared that Jack is survived by his parents, siblings, girlfriend Emily, and many others who loved him deeply. They also referenced his reunion with his biological mother, Holly, describing the heartbreak of losing him far too soon.
“Thank you for a lifetime worth of incredible memories packed into 25 years,” the family wrote. “We didn’t have nearly enough time together.”
Memorial services honoring Jack Clayville’s life are scheduled to take place in both Idaho and Texas.
The first memorial service will be held on May 15 at The Church of the Big Wood beginning at 10 a.m., followed by an open house gathering at the family’s home.
A second celebration of life is planned for May 21 in Austin, with additional location details expected to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking supporters to consider donating to the newly established Jack Clayville Foundation, which they say will continue his legacy and honor the compassion and courage he showed throughout his life.
Additional details regarding the foundation are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
