35-year-old Jamerica Mitchell killed in car accident on East 71st and Quincy in Cleveland
CLEVELAND — Authorities are investigating a fatal vehicle crash that claimed the life of Jamerica Mitchell, 35, on Monday evening.
The collision occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of East 71st Street and Quincy Avenue.
According to preliminary information released by officials, Mitchell was traveling in a vehicle with two adult male occupants when the crash took place under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Mitchell suffering from critical injuries.
She was transported to University Hospitals for emergency medical treatment, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The two male occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and were also transported for medical evaluation.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the crash, and the incident remains an active and ongoing investigation.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
