Multiple Victims Injured by Falling Debris at Yellow Springs Elementary School Construction Site in Frederick
FREDERICK, Md. — Emergency personnel responded to a multi-patient incident at a construction site for Yellow Springs Elementary School following reports of injuries caused by falling debris.
The incident occurred in the area of Spring Run Drive near Walter Martz Road, where crews arrived to find multiple individuals suffering traumatic injuries.
Initial reports indicate that at least three patients were classified as trauma cases, including two requiring Advanced Life Support (ALS) care and one receiving Basic Life Support (BLS) treatment.
Due to the severity of injuries sustained by one patient—designated as a Priority 1A—officials requested a medical evacuation helicopter to expedite transport to a trauma center.
A fourth patient was later identified and evaluated under BLS care, prompting requests for additional emergency medical services to assist at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the circumstances that led to the falling debris or the identities of those injured.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
