Two killed after motorcycle collides with car in Warrenville
AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two individuals Sunday morning in Warrenville.
According to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, the collision occurred at approximately 10:51 a.m. in the 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.
Preliminary information indicates that a 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound collided with a 2020 Subaru under circumstances that remain under investigation.
The operator of the motorcycle and a passenger were both pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 11:00 a.m.
The driver of the Subaru sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The extent of those injuries has not been publicly disclosed.
Due to significant thermal injuries sustained in the crash, authorities have not yet been able to positively identify the deceased.
Notification of next of kin is pending. Officials have stated that autopsies are scheduled to be conducted next week in Newberry to assist in identification and determine the exact causes of death.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office, in coordination with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
The investigation and emergency response remain ongoing in Ferguson, and officials are expected to provide additional information once the scene has been fully assessed.
