34-year-old Alfred Acevedo Killed in Oxnard Motorcycle Crash on Cinco de Mayo
OXNARD, Calif. — A 34-year-old Oxnard man has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Cinco de Mayo, according to the Oxnard Police Department.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. on May 5, 2026, along Ventura Road just north of Stone Creek Drive in Oxnard.
Officers responded alongside Emergency Medical Services to reports of a serious traffic incident.
Upon arrival, authorities located a Harley-Davidson motorcycle down in the southbound lanes.
The rider, identified as Alfred Acevedo, was found on the raised center median near the crash site, suffering from severe traumatic injuries.
Acevedo was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
According to traffic investigators, Acevedo was believed to be traveling northbound on Ventura Road when, for reasons still under investigation, he struck the raised curb along the center median just north of Stone Creek Drive.
The impact caused the rider to lose control of the motorcycle, resulting in ejection. Acevedo landed on the median, while the motorcycle continued across it and came to rest in the southbound traffic lanes.
Investigators noted that alcohol impairment may have been a contributing factor, though this has not yet been confirmed.
The crash remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause.
