18-year-old Azariah Jones killed in crash on near 84th and Hampton in Milwaukee
Azariah Jones, 18, was killed Thursday night following a single-vehicle crash on the north side of Milwaukee, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Police said the fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of North 84th Street and West Hampton Avenue.
Investigators determined that Jones was driving southbound along the 4700 block of North 84th Street when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Jones to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, the 18-year-old later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators continue to examine whether speed, impairment, roadway conditions, or other contributing factors played a role in the deadly crash.
The fatal collision remains under active investigation by Milwaukee police.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
