Kyle Lunn Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Route 302 in Casco
CASCO, Maine — Kyle Lunn was killed Thursday night in a serious motorcycle crash that shut down a major stretch of Roosevelt Trail, also known as Route 302, for several hours, according to authorities and reports from the scene.
The crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. near the Watkins Flats area in the vicinity of 791 Roosevelt Trail in Casco, according to the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center.
Emergency crews responded to what officials described as a “significant motor vehicle crash,” prompting authorities to close the roadway for nearly three hours while first responders treated victims and investigators processed the scene.
Police diverted traffic and urged drivers to avoid the area as Route 302 remained shut down until approximately midnight before reopening early Friday morning.
According to reports, a 12-year-old child involved in the crash survived but suffered serious injuries, including a broken ankle and a broken pelvis.
The child reportedly underwent surgery following the collision and is expected to recover.
Authorities confirmed that Kyle Lunn died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
At this time, investigators have not publicly released additional details regarding how the motorcycle crash occurred or whether other vehicles were involved.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
