Terry Dudley Identified as First Victim in Shooting near In-N-Out in Twin Falls
TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The first victim has been publicly identified in the deadly mass shooting near the newly opened In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls on Saturday afternoon.
Terry Dudley was confirmed by his employer as one of the victims wounded in the attack.
In a statement shared after the tragedy, the company associated with Dudley said:
“The company associated with Terry Dudley said he was the victim of a mass shooting today. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”
According to information shared by those close to the victim, Dudley was charging his Tesla vehicle when he was shot during the attack.
The shooting left three people dead and two others injured, while the suspected gunman also died, authorities confirmed.
The shooting unfolded shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday near the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, which had celebrated its grand opening only days earlier on July 24.
Twin Falls Police responded alongside numerous local, state and federal agencies after reports of an active shooter near the restaurant.
During an evening news conference, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed that three people were killed and two additional victims were injured during the violence.
The injured victims were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, where they continue receiving treatment.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the remaining victims.
Witnesses described a chaotic and terrifying scene as gunfire erupted in the crowded restaurant area.
Videos recorded by bystanders appear to show a suspect armed with a camouflaged AR-style rifle walking through the In-N-Out drive-thru while firing multiple rounds.
The suspected gunman was described by witnesses as a young white male wearing glasses, blue jeans, and a black T-shirt with a large logo across the chest.
Footage also appears to show the suspect exiting a white vehicle before opening the trunk and retrieving another firearm as frightened customers ran for cover.
Several witnesses also reported seeing another individual firing a handgun during the incident. Police have not confirmed whether that person was another suspect or an armed civilian responding to the attack.
During a press briefing held around 5:45 p.m., Chief Hicks announced that the suspected shooter is dead.
Officials have not disclosed how the suspect died, and investigators have not yet confirmed whether the suspect was killed by law enforcement, another armed individual, or by self-inflicted injuries.
“The threat to the community is over,” Hicks said.
Authorities temporarily issued a shelter-in-place order, which has since been lifted.
Roads surrounding the shooting scene, including portions near the Perrine Bridge, were closed for several hours while investigators processed evidence.
Following the shooting, St. Luke’s Magic Valley asked the public to avoid visiting the hospital unless experiencing a medical emergency to allow staff to care for victims.
Hospital officials confirmed the Emergency Department remained open throughout the incident.
Investigators continue collecting evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses to determine exactly what led to the deadly shooting.
Police have not yet announced a motive, nor have they identified the remaining victims.

TAUNTON, Mass. — One person was killed and seven others were injured in an overnight shooting at a house party in Taunton, Massachusetts, authorities said.
The shooting happened at approximately 12:35 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 261 Weir Street area. Taunton police officers responded after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots.
When officers arrived, they found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators were also informed that additional victims had already been transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
Authorities ultimately identified eight shooting victims, all of whom were reportedly in their early 20s.
One of the victims, 22-year-old Zirovick Depina of Brockton, was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Of the seven surviving victims, one remains in serious but stable condition, while the others suffered injuries that were considered non-life-threatening. Their identities have not been publicly released.
The shooting occurred during a gathering at the residence. Images from the scene showed a tent and tables in the yard, along with white balloons and what appeared to be a photo backdrop near a garage.
A neighbor told authorities that large gatherings and loud parties had reportedly been common at the residence.
The home is located about a mile from the Taunton Police Department headquarters. The neighbor expressed concern about the shooting occurring in the area, particularly given the late-night activity.
The investigation is being conducted by Taunton Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and other investigative units. Detectives are working to determine what led to the gunfire and identify those responsible.
