18-year-old Ryan Duvall killed after single-vehicle crash in Baltimore County
COCKEYSVILLE, Md. — A single-vehicle crash in Baltimore County late Friday night claimed the life of an adult passenger and left three juveniles injured, according to local authorities.
Police responded around 9:45 p.m. to the intersection of Poplar Hill Road and Merrymans Mill Road following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle traveling southbound on Poplar Hill Road had left the roadway and collided with a tree under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Authorities identified the deceased victim as Ryan Duvall, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The driver of the vehicle, a juvenile, along with another juvenile passenger, sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
A third juvenile passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to veer off the road.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
