Oklahoma City Marine Veteran Andres “Andy” Navarrete Guerrero Killed in Tragic Gold Chain Robbery
A devastating tragedy has left a family in Oklahoma City facing an unimaginable loss after 25-year-old Andres “Andy” Navarrete Guerrero was fatally shot during what was reportedly supposed to be a simple transaction near NW 122nd Street and Penn Avenue.
On Monday afternoon, Andy went to the area outside First Citizens Bank to sell a $2,000 gold chain. What should have been an ordinary meeting quickly turned into a heartbreaking act of violence.
According to investigators, 18-year-old Keyalynn Gray allegedly pulled out a “mini-AK” style rifle during the encounter in an attempt to steal the gold chain and shot Andy multiple times.
Despite being seriously wounded, Andy managed to make his way inside the bank seeking help. Emergency responders and those at the scene attempted to assist him, but tragically, he died from his injuries.
Andy was far more than the circumstances surrounding his death.
He was a United States Marine veteran 🇺🇸, a man who had served his country and dedicated part of his life to something greater than himself.
He was also a husband and newlywed, building a life with the woman he loved.
Most heartbreakingly, Andy was preparing to become a father.
His wife is expecting their first child — a baby Andy was reportedly excitedly looking forward to meeting. Instead of experiencing the joy of welcoming their child together, his wife is now facing pregnancy and motherhood while grieving the loss of her husband.
A future that should have been filled with first moments, family memories, and dreams for their growing family has been painfully altered.
Following the shooting, detectives reportedly tracked Gray to a residence in southeast Oklahoma City. Authorities subsequently arrested him, and he was booked on a first-degree murder charge.
The allegations against Gray remain allegations unless and until proven in court.
For Andy’s family, however, the legal process cannot undo the loss they are already living with.
A wife has lost her husband.
An unborn child will grow up without the opportunity to know their father firsthand.
A family has lost a son and loved one.
And a Marine veteran who once served his country has been taken from the people who loved him.
A fundraiser has been organized to support Andy’s wife during this devastating time. Contributions are intended to help with funeral expenses, preparations for the arrival of their baby, and the unexpected financial burdens that can follow such a sudden and heartbreaking loss.
For a young family preparing to welcome their first child, the emotional pain is already immeasurable. The financial challenges only add another burden during an incredibly difficult chapter.
He will be remembered not simply as the victim of a tragic shooting, but as a Marine veteran, husband, soon-to-be father, and loved one whose life mattered deeply to the people around him.
His memory will live on through his wife, their child, family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our deepest condolences, prayers, and strength go to Andy’s wife, their unborn baby, his family, friends, fellow Marines, and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.
💔🕊️ Rest peacefully, Andy. Your life, your service, and your love for your family will not be forgotten.

Beloved Chicago Father and Neighbor David Lamont Burrell Killed in Senseless Shooting
A Chicago family is grieving the devastating loss of 59-year-old David Lamont Burrell, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and respected member of his community, after he was fatally shot Tuesday evening in the Fernwood/Roseland area.
According to his daughter, Kyla Babu, David was simply going about his evening when tragedy struck. Around 6 p.m. in the 10500 block of South Eggleston Avenue, near 105th Street and Eggleston, David had crossed the street from his home to a neighbor’s house to get something to drink.
As he was leaving the neighbor’s home, Kyla says an unknown suspect reportedly jumped over a fence and shot David in the back of the head before fleeing through a nearby gangway. His family says David was not the intended target.
David was rushed to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His death has left his family, friends, neighbors, and community devastated. Those who knew David describe him as a kind, generous, helpful, and friendly man who was known throughout the 100s, Roseland, and surrounding Chicago communities. He was someone who made friends easily and was always willing to help others.
Now, the people who loved him are left with grief, unanswered questions, and a desperate need for justice.
His daughter, Kyla, is pleading with the community to help find answers. Through her tears, she shared the heartbreaking pain of losing her father and called on anyone who may have witnessed something to come forward.
The family believes that someone in the area may have captured important information on a Ring camera or other surveillance system. Even the smallest detail could potentially help investigators understand what happened and identify the person responsible.
If you were in the area of 105th Street and South Eggleston Avenue on Tuesday evening, saw anything unusual, heard anything that may be relevant, or have security-camera footage from the area, please consider sharing that information with the appropriate authorities.
David should have been able to walk across the street, visit a neighbor, and return home safely. Instead, a family is now mourning a life that was taken far too soon.
A wife has lost her husband.
Children have lost their father.
A mother has lost her son.
Siblings have lost their brother.
And a community has lost a man remembered for his kindness and generosity.
Our deepest condolences, prayers, love, and strength go out to his wife, children, mother, siblings, extended family, friends, neighbors, and everyone who knew and loved him.
If you know something, please speak up. His family deserves answers. His loved ones deserve justice.
💔🕊️ Justice for David Lamont Burrell. 🙏
